Maybelline

The obvious connection to 12 bar blues form is the first thing that jumped out at me in this song - although it is conducted at a breakneck pace.  The rapidly walking bass line and the constant driving backbeat of the snare drum also contribute to the energy of the song.

As noted in the text article, Chuck Berry here combines the 12 bar blues form with the driving energy and storytelling lyric style of country music.  It definitely shows how the genres of blues, gospel and country are beginning to merge into what would soon become rock and roll.
