Paper doll

This is quite a change from most of what we have listened to so far.  The simple guitar accompaniment is the first thing that grabs your attention.  Next is the fact that the solo voices over that simple guitar background - again a very simple vocal line.  The lyrics are very plaintive - a man who has obviously been hurt several times by "real dolls" who have been stolen away by "flirty guys" with their "flirty eyes".

It does set things up for an interesting transition when the second soloist comes in at a faster tempo and then the rest of the quartet joins in together.  The vocal harmonies here are delicious and point to some of the close harmony doo-wop groups that will develop further down the line.
